The key cap for the new MINI models is a real design and technology innovation. The MINI key can be disassembled into two parts, as the cap can simply be pulled off after removing the rear cover and replaced with the Design Key Cap. The Design Characters are a first in the entire automotive industry. Matching all accessory products in different design lines is so far unique on the market. A technological novelty is the NFC (Near Field Communication) chip built into the cap, which allows you to control your smartphone by simply touching it. -The key cap is the perfect fashion accessory and available in three Characters. The personal taste of each MINI lover is thus perfectly expressed. The key cap is therefore unmistakably MINI: cool design for fashion-savvy drivers. -The key cap is very easy to put on. This is how your individuality is presented in detail. -As a special innovation, an NFC chip is integrated in the key cap. The position is recognizable by a small elevation on the top right side of the cap. The NFC chip makes it possible to control the smartphone with the MINI key. The smartphone is held up to the key cap, the device recognizes the chip and reproduces the user's individual settings, which are stored on the chip. When held out again, the actions can be reversed. -When the smartphone touches the key cap for the first time, if you don't have an NFC app on your device yet, the app download area opens and gives you the option to search for and download specific programming apps directly. -Once the NFC chip is configured, it can fully automatically call up various functions of the smartphone, e.g. volume, wifi, Bluetooth or an app, and when contact is made again, it can undo these actions. -A special clip-on device on the MINI key ensures that only the original MINI key fob fits perfectly. An optimal addition that ensures a secure attachment. The three new color worlds are a visually sophisticated concept that makes your personal MINI instantly recognizable not only from the inside, but also from the outside. The three Characters offer MINI styling to suit every taste. VIVID GREEN is the design line with pure, strong colors, young and bold but still not fast-moving. The color selection is based on international fashion trends. BLUE is aimed at a more tradition-conscious target group that nevertheless likes to think fresh. Classically elegant shapes with leather elements and a balance of cool and warm colors dominate here. The focus is on the primary colors from the British flag, especially blue, one of MINI's original hues. The design interprets the British look in a modern and sporty way. JOHN COOPER WORKS PRO builds on the well-known John Cooper Works design and makes it available for MINI accessory products. The sporty color mix of primarily black and red tones is a clear commitment to power and performance.
