The vest with integrated Street AIR system with airbag uses three sensors to monitor the driving situation and triggers the airbag if necessary. The Street AIR system is switched on at the main switch of the vest and then automatically activated by closing the jacket front zipper (with sensor). LED indicator on the left arm of the jacket signals the status of the Street AIR system including functionality and battery charge level. The Street AIR system is completely waterproof and ready for use in any weather: The electronics are protected by a robust and water-repellent housing. Worn under a compatible jacket, the Street AIR system is absolutely waterproof. WARNING! No system, including the Street AIR system, can provide perfect and total protection. Battery operating time and charging: -Always check the battery charge level before driving, recharge if necessary. -Operating time: Fully charged and activated, functional for up to 25 hours -Charge the battery via power supply unit (220 V, 50 Hz), included in the scope of delivery -Connect the power supply unit to the micro USB port in the vest -Charge time: approx. 6 hours with fully discharged battery Important notes from the operating instructions: -The Street AIR system may only be used for motorcycle riding in road traffic and with restrictions for off-road use, within the conditions and limitations described in the operating instructions. -It must be ensured that the motorcycle jacket with the Street AIR vest fits perfectly. This is the only way to ensure functional safety. -Always check the battery charge level before riding, recharge if necessary. -After a fall, it is necessary without exception to have the vest checked for any damage by an authorized BMW Motorrad partner. Registration: To track the vest, the serial number of the vest must be registered: -A data portal is available for this purpose (http://www.alpinestars.com/techair). -The registration must be carried out by the BMW Motorrad partner as part of the sale. Independent registration is alternatively possible. -The serial number of the vest is located under the QR code inside the vest near the neckline. -For details of the data portal and registration, see the operating instructions. Care and maintenance: -The vest is to be stored in a cool and dry place, instructions from the user manual are to be followed. -Clean only with damp cloth, no machine washing, no dry cleaning, for details see instruction manual. -Caution: Immersion of the system in water may cause damage to the electronic components of the system. -Duration of use of the Street AIR system: The life of a safety system depends on the number of uses and the care with which it is treated by the user. A maintenance check is recommended every 2 years. -For details, see the operating instructions. Disposal of the vest: -The Street AIR vest contains electronic components as well as a high pressure gas compressor that should not be disposed of as normal waste. -The proper disposal of the product (as hazardous waste) is carried out - free of charge for you - by your BMW Motorrad partner. -Vest with deployed airbag: The electronic components must be removed and taken to a suitable recycling facility in accordance with the European WEEE Directive. The remaining vest and the airbag must be disposed of in compliance with country-specific regulations. -Vest with undeployed airbag: The airbag must be deployed before disposal. In this case, it is possible to return the vests to Alpinestars for proper disposal. -If the product is not disposed of properly, hazards or environmental pollution may occur.
