The original BMW or MINI bike roof rack is a safe roof transport solution for racing, touring or children's bikes as well as mountain bikes up to a maximum of 20 kg. The bike roof rack is mounted on the vehicle-specific roof rack and provides secure support for a bicycle. Depending on the respective roof rack width and the maximum roof load of the vehicle, up to 4 bike roof racks can be mounted. -The bike roof rack offers a secure transport solution for one bike. -Further optional accessories enable the comfortable transport of special bikes (e.g. bikes with carbon frames or fatbikes). -Bike roof rack and bike can be locked separately from each other to prevent theft. -The assembly is simple and without tools. -The controls are conveniently accessible at the height of the roof rack. -The loading or operating side can be converted from right to left (relevant for multiple use). -Material: Mixed construction of anodized aluminum profile, high-strength UV-stabilized plastics and corrosion-protected steel parts. Functionality: -The wheel mounts can be moved/adjusted depending on the wheelbase of the bike. -For better stabilization of the front wheel, the wheel mounts are equipped with diagonally running retaining straps. -The ratchet function makes it easy to tighten and loosen the retaining straps. -The rotatable arm with rubberized retaining claw is capable of holding all common frame sizes and shapes. -The retaining claw is particularly comfortable to operate due to the clamping force limitation and the operating wheel arranged low/at roof rack height. -To reduce the height of the vehicle, the retaining claw can be folded horizontally without the bike. -For fatbikes, wider wheel shells with longer retaining strap are available separately (see Optional extra parts). The carbon frame transport protection for the BMW bike roof rack is required for transporting bikes with carbon frames. It also protects the frame from scratches or crushing. The transport protection can be easily attached to the bike. The fat bike wheel shells for the BMW bicycle roof rack are required for the safe transport of bikes with 3.0 to 5.0 inch tire widths. In addition to the wider wheel shells, the adapter also consists of longer toothed straps. Easy to fit without tools. The wheel wells are not suitable for the rear bike rack.
