Talking to each other, listening to your favorite music, making phone calls and staying perfectly on course via the connection with the BMW Motorrad Navigator - that's what the BMW Motorrad communication system offers. And all this without the rider having to take his eyes off the road. The BMW Motorrad communication system connects two helmets thanks to wireless voice communication. In addition, a connection with the BMW Motorrad Navigator and a smartphone is possible, as well as with the TFT display or the audio system of BMW motorcycles. Excellent sound quality, simple operation and low weight ensure an optimal riding and listening experience. In addition, the control unit has been designed to integrate perfectly into the helmet shell. -Communication system for helmet GS Carbon -up to 3 connections per helmet -Bluetooth communication between rider and pillion passenger -Bluetooth connection to cell phone, navigation system, MP3 player and TFT display -connection to audio system of motorcycle, e.g. R 1200 RT, K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL -easy operation via 3 buttons on the helmet for maximum safety and functionality -automatic suppression of background noise -automatic call acceptance for telephone calls -music playback in stereo quality -installation without disturbing cables -operating time NiMH (nickel-metal hydride): approx. 16 hours -Software updates available on the BMW Motorrad homepage if required Product features: -wireless communication between rider and pillion, up to 20 m range (or with quality restriction 30 - 100 m). -full duplex: talking and listening is possible at the same time -Communication link is not activated by speaking, but is continuously active (even when not speaking) -Wireless connection to other Bluetooth devices: A maximum of 2 helmets, 1 navigation system, 2 cell phones and 2 music devices can be operated together -Vehicle independent: All components are built into the helmet (weight: approx. 160 g) -long battery life and fast recharging: -Battery pack NiMH operating time: Up to 16 hours. -Battery pack charging time: Approx. 4 hours (with the supplied charger) -NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) battery pack, capacity 2400 mAh -NiMH batteries have no memory effect, so they can be charged in any condition -The service life of the batteries is up to max. 3 years, depending on use and environmental conditions. Defective batteries can be replaced at the BMW Motorrad partner. -Charger with intelligent charging electronics automatically switches to trickle charge after completion of the charging process. Overcharging of the batteries is not possible, extra long charging cable of 1.50 m, including adapter for EU,UK and US, 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz, 6 W -regular announcement of the battery charge level in the helmet when switching on and off, as well as when reaching certain statuses (full - 80% - 60% - 40% - 20% - battery low-empty) -Micro USB port for charging the battery pack -charging via the included charger, extra long charging cable (1.50 m) ensures easy access to the socket, charging time approx. 4 hours -No maintenance and care required (except for charging the batteries) Priority automatic: -The connection with the highest priority has priority over all other connections. I.e. connections with low priority are interrupted as soon as a connection with a higher priority sends a signal. -The cell phone has the highest priority, followed by the navigation system. -The music playback is interrupted by a phone call. After the phone call is ended, the music connection is automatically re-established (if supported by the music device). -Navigation announcements of the BMW Motorrad Navigator IV, V and VI, as well as Navigator Street interrupt the music playback, but not the communication connection (navigation announcements are transmitted to the driver's helmet parallel to the conversation). -For older navigation systems such as BMW Motorrad Navigator III, Navigator III plus and BMW Motorrad ZUMO, both music playback and the communication link are interrupted for the duration of the navigation announcements, as before. -The priority of the connected devices is preset, configuration is not necessary. Pairing is the first contact of 2 Bluetooth devices. In order to operate 2 Bluetooth devices with each other, they must first be "made known" to each other. This is the so called "pairing". Pairing is only necessary for 2 devices for the first time. In the daily operation of the devices, the pairing does not have to be performed again. Pairing prevents interference from other/foreign Bluetooth devices: Devices that do not recognize each other cannot communicate with each other and do not interfere with each other. A helmet with communication system can be connected to 3 other devices by pairing: -With another helmet with the BMW Motorrad communication system for a communication link between 2 helmets. -With a music device (e.g. MP3 player) or - if available - the audio system from the motorcycle (A2DP profile), a music device (MP3 player) cannot be connected to 2 helmets simultaneously -with a cell phone or navigation system (headset/handsfree profile), it is not possible to connect one helmet with 2 cell phones -The following functions are not possible: -listening to music and talking to the pillion passenger at the same time -rider and pillion have a phone conversation on the same cell phone -rider and pillion listen to music on the same music device (except audio system K48, K26, K52) -Pairing of more than 2 helmets -Pairing of one helmet with 2 cell phones or 2 music devices -Pairing with a communication system of another manufacturer (without guarantee)
