The system enables wireless voice communication between two helmets for rider and pillion. In addition, a connection with the BMW Motorrad Navigator and a smartphone is possible, as well as with the TFT display or the audio system of BMW motorcycles (only in conjunction with the BMW audio platform). The automatic suppression of background noise, automatic call acceptance of telephone calls and music playback in stereo quality ensure an excellent, top-class communication experience. With the new 3rd generation (version 3) of the communication system for the System 7 Carbon helmet, in addition to the even longer operating time, riding on the motorcycle, with the help of additional features, is made even more pleasant. As of now, the 3rd generation is available for other BMW Motorrad helmets in addition to the Helmet System 7 Carbon: Helmet System 6, Helmet GS Carbon and Helmet AirFlow. The BMW Motorrad communication system is available for most current BMW Motorrad helmets. BMW Motorrad recommends installation by a BMW Motorrad partner. Depending on use and environmental conditions, the batteries last up to 2 years. Defective batteries can be replaced by a BMW Motorrad partner.
