The Original BMW battery with AGM technology (Absorbant Glass Mat) represents a high-performance component in the vehicle. It is supplied ready for installation and offers several technical innovations. The battery is filled with sulfuric acid, which is 100% bound in mats made of glass fiber fleece. When current is drawn, the current flows, as usual, from the negative to the positive electrode. Original BMW batteries with AGM technology are twice as fast in current consumption and output compared to calcium batteries. BMW models that were already equipped with AGM technology at the factory also require a battery with AGM technology again in the event of a battery replacement.
