Description

The Wallbox Gen. 3 is a home charging station for all Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV). It allows you to charge your vehicle safely, quickly and independently at home. Compared to the OUC base cable supplied with the vehicle, the wallbox achieves a significantly shorter charging time. A DC fault detection system is already integrated in the wallbox, thus contributing to significant savings in installation costs. When the plug is connected to the vehicle, the charging process starts automatically without any further operating steps being necessary. In addition to its space-saving, compact dimensioning in BMW design, the wallbox also offers convenient cable management including plug and wall mount. Since hybrid and electric vehicles are designed for specific charging capacities, charging speeds differ depending on the vehicle. The BMW plug-in hybrids, for example, are charged exclusively with alternating current (AC) and have a maximum charging speed of 3.7 kW. Higher charging speeds are available for pure electric cars: AC charging (alternating current) up to 11 kW. With the wallbox, the specific function "time-controlled charging" is supported. This makes it possible to charge vehicles exclusively at certain times and thus take advantage of particularly favorable electricity rates, for example. Pre-air conditioning of the vehicle is also possible. In the morning, you will find a charged and already pre-heated or -cooled vehicle. The energy required for this is provided by the wallbox when the vehicle is connected and thus saved during the journey - to maximize the range. The status display of the wallbox is shown by an LED bar on the front of the wallbox. Thanks to this display on the wallbox, you can always see the current charging status, even from a greater distance. With the Wallbox Service App, the wallbox can be kept up to date, a variety of settings can be changed, and the current device status can be called up at any time. In addition, there is information and advice on troubleshooting. Installation instructions: -The cabling from the house installation to the wallbox as well as the fuse protection is specific for each market and connection case and is determined by the installer on site.
