Description
From the race track to the road with the lightweight sports muffler made of high-alloy chrome-nickel material Inconel®. Known from racing, with 4x74mm polished titanium tailpipes and ///M logo. The optimized exhaust routing determines the V8 sound full of character, underlines the sporty driving feel and additionally reduces the exhaust back pressure. The powerful sound was developed specifically for the M3 and is the perfect compromise between sportiness and everyday usability. Visually, the two twin titanium tailpipes stand out. The perforated inner pipes show a maximum of high-tech, sportiness and highlight the individual character of the BMW M3. The use of the special chrome-nickel material Inconel® has made it possible to reduce the weight of the silencer by over 40% (-9kg). Another indicator of the high-quality material is the temperature resistance, which also ensures the racing suitability of this sports silencer. Developed with the latest CAD and FEM technology, the system has optimal fit and high OEM quality.

Im Kaltstart nur geringe Änderungen gegenüber dem Serienschalldämpfer, zumindest im Auto. Steht man an oder hinter dem Auto, kann schon ein größerer Unterschied (lauterer und satterer Sound) wahrgenommen werden. Richtig zur Sache geht es allerdings dann, wenn der M3 entsprechend bewegt und der Schalldämpfer ordentlich auf Temperatur gebracht wird. Dann entwickelt das System eine Soundkullise und ein Dröhnen, wie ich es von einem Original BMW Auspuff so nie erwartet hätte. Teilweise (im Bereich zwischen 3.000 und 4.000 Umdrehungen) dröhnt es im Auto so stark, dass es fast schon zu viel des Guten ist. Dabei kommt sogar das Armaturenbrett leicht ins zittern und vibrieren. Allerdings bessert sich das, wenn der M3 wieder ziviler (normal) bewegt wird und das System etwas abkühlt. Dann bekommt man einen sehr schönen und satten Sound serviert, wie er (meiner Meinung nach) zu einem M3 passt. Somit auf jeden Fall eine Steigerung gegenüber der Serie. In wie weit einem die "Performance" bei flotterer Gangart jedoch zusagt ist letztlich Empfindungssache. Ein Ticken weniger wäre hier auch ok gewesen. Allerdings kann man auch argumentieren dass wenn ein M3 richtig bewegt wird, dies auch vom Auto so kundgetan werden soll. Ich würde mich jedenfalls wieder für den Performance Schalldämpfer entscheiden.
