A security kit is available for retrofitting to increase the theft protection of steering wheels, navigation systems, gear selectors, iDrive controllers and on-board monitors. The retrofit kit contains components with which the aforementioned components can be subsequently secured. The time required to dismantle the protected parts is significantly increased, making parts theft less attractive to perpetrators. In addition, the retrofit kit includes windshield stickers that alert potential thieves to the presence of special protective devices. The Security Kit contains components for retrofitting that are used in the production of new cars. It also contains components that cannot be installed ex works for production-related reasons. This significantly increases the theft protection of parts that are at risk of theft.
